3 Ways To Easy Storytelling

Friday Edition

Magic Trick #19 for you -

As sad as it may sound - the world is getting consumed by AI.

There is more jargon and facts on the internet than ever.

Everyone is either a guru or an expert.

How do you beat this herd?
Storytelling.

Don’t just freeze yet. We understand that it is difficult to word one.

So, this edition will help you tell stories better.

Look out for the 3rd one. 99% have no clue about it.

Here’s 3 ways you can -

1/ Address the elephant in the room

How has life shaped you?

Answer questions like -

→ Is there something that you want to take off your chest?
→ Is there an issue in the world you want to talk about?
→ Is there something you believe in that no one does?

More often than others, this very way brings out the best stories.

2/ Advice I would give myself

This is one of my favourite ways.

I pick an incident that happened to me 2 years ago, or 2 weeks ago.
I write the incident, my response and what I would do different.

And there it is - you have a story with a lesson learned.

3/ The Kishōtenketsu method

Relax, I’ll break it down for you.

Kis → Introduction
Shō → Development
Ten → Complication
Ketsu → Conclusion

Each element here is super critical for a story to work its magic.

In Ki, you need to set the scene, talk about the situation and introduce any characters if necessary. The idea is to immerse your audience.

In Shō, you talk about what the character needs, where is this story headed, the problem this story has. The idea is to clearly outline what the story is about.

In Ten, you talk about how you won the problem, your discovery or fight against it and the Aha moments. The idea is to talk about a great twist.

In Ketsu, you talk about how your readers can do the same, how has this story changed your life, the transformation. The idea is to inspire your readers tp make a decision.

That’s it folks.

You master these 3, you can master website copies, a LinkedIn post & a novel.
