Why Have We Shifted Our Focus To Building A Community?

I had to stop sending emails and I hated it.

60 editions, and I was on a roll. To stop that brought me some real pain.

Part of the reason was the power Gmail holds. A couple of people had marked my newsletters as spam, and now most of these were landing in the spam folder or the promotional one.

So, I took a 5-week hiatus and gave this channel some breathing space.

I have finally come back with some story to share.

Over the last 5 weeks, we launched a community called - saturday.

Our goal was to get creators together and make a space where peer-to-peer learning was possible.

LinkedIn has become Tinder.
Instagram has become TikTok.
Twitter is all about cryptocurrency.

Someone had to take the step up.

We did.

Now, I wouldn’t say the community is a safe space/place for creators.
I’d instead say the community is a space/place where creators agree to get uncomfortable.

We talk about problems. We solve problems.

saturday. - is a hangout place for creators. built by the creators.

We went live on the 4th Jan and in under 4 weeks, we are -
1. 105 members
2. 7 different countries
3. over 2000+ engagement

Beyond my wildest dreams.

Now, the big question is - why are we doing this?

Very simply, because in a community you’ll find -

1. There’s a direct interaction between me and you
2. There’s a direct interaction between Aayush, Mehak and Muskaan

We solve problems. We discuss algorithms. We hop on calls. We host events. We share resources & more.

Our goals are still the same.

Grow on these social channels that have become messed up.

What’s changed?

The confidence we have in finding success.
