I Have Stopped Using Hooks After I Found This

Friday Edition

Mini Introduction -

Hello fam

Have I ever told you what my favourite TV show was?

Game Of Thrones (until they ruined the ending).
I was in awe of the screenplay and writing.

The dialogues were swift and made me fall in love with writing.

One of the most iconic lines from the show was - ‘Valar Morghulis’ (a greeting).
Translating it for the ones who did not catch on the iconic show - ‘all men must die.’

It was followed by ‘Valar Dohaeris’ translating to - ‘all men must serve.’

Given the context of the show - what brilliant lines. (All GoT fans agree)
Given the situation today - the sad truth.

On 9 August 2024, India witnessed a horrific crime.
I am sorry - let me rephrase this - On 9 August 2024, India witnessed a horrific crime yet again.

What has since followed is something that’ll mark this era.

Brave women have come forward and spoken. As you would have expected.

The same women history taught us stayed at home when men went out to war.

And the so-called men of our society - oh they are at war - yet again.

Shutting each other up.
Shaming women who are standing up.
Arguing if the lawyer supports the government or the opposition.

Fighting for something only they understand.

I am losing trust in history.

To my friends who have raised their voices, I am proud of you - men or women.
To my friends who haven’t yet, there’s still time. I am waiting for you to rewrite history.

Play your role - ‘Valar Dohaeris’

This newsletter is dedicated to everyone around the world who have to scream for men to understand what equality means.

I want you to play this song in the background while reading this -

if you are on your mobile/tablet - this

Something no one does but you should 💁🏻

We all know great hooks stop people from scrolling.

Enough conversation on the internet about it lately.

You know what else does?

Pictures. And it’s not that hard to find ones that get you to stop.

There are 3 basically -

  1. Screenshots of WhatsApp/Telegram conversation

→ makes your audience feel a part of the inner circle

  2. Pictures of nostalgia

→ brings back truckloads of memories and emotions back

  3. Pictures that are soothing to the eyes

→ stimulates the brain. You appreciate the idea of the picture.

We’ll dive deep into one of them today -

  1. Screenshots of WhatsApp/Telegram conversation

another reason why I get screamed at

Screenshots gets people involved.
You get to read one from a friend/family only if you are trustworthy.

If done right in marketing, it instantly builds trust between your audience and you.

Imagine Zomato’s Marketing Team’s leaked WhatsApp conversation circulates on X where they share a coupon code.

Technically, you acknowledge that most screenshots of conversations come your way without one party knowing anything about it - in this case Zomato.

You open the app. And try the code. It works.

You forward the screenshot to more people.

It all feels like a secret when it’s all a part of viral marketing.

Next time, you do an event, sell a product - try this out.

Free forever for you 🤩

Legit, forever ever for you.

Last week, we sent out 10 post templates for you.

Do it.

What’s cooking at CwC? 🎃

Ever since I started this section in my newsletter, I have realised there’s so much that’s happening at CwC - all the freaking time.

Item 1 - We partnered with Blinkit for a mini-campaign

Abirah Nabi partnered with Blinkit for a UGC (User-generated content).

This was our first of many UGC campaigns.
In the next couple of months, we’ll be partnering with more brands - giving them a space on LinkedIn and bringing them closer to our community.
